Lynchburg Market is about the real estate market in this beautiful town in Virginia, located along the James River, in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Known as the “City of Seven Hills”, the population of the City of Lynchburg includes over 72,000 residents.

The Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) of Lynchburg encompasses 2,122 square miles, and includes Amherst County, Bedford County, Campbell Lynchburg Real Estate 300x225 HomeCounty, Appomattox County, and the cities of Bedford and Lynchburg.  The population of the Lynchburg MSA is almost 250,000.

Lynchburg is considered the regional center for commerce and retail, with a good diversity of small and medium-sized businesses represented.  Local major businesses include Frito-Lay, Harris Corporation, R.R.Donnelley, Aerofin Corporaton, Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company, and more.

Since 2004, Lynchburg has been listed in the Top 10 Digital Cities, showing a progressive attitude toward technology.

This area boasts some interesting architecture, and over 40 sites are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The first neighborhoods of Lynchburg developed upon seven hills adjacent to the original ferry landing. These neighborhoods include Diamond Hill, College Hill, White Rock Hill, Daniel’s Hill, Franklin Hill, Garland Hill and Federal Hill.

The average listing price for homes for sale in the Lynchburg market is around $225,000, and popular neighborhoods include Fort Hill and Wyndhurst.
